Wine tastings above the deli are back on

We haven’t held a wine tastings for years as cookery classes took over.  But a conversation between Bristol Spanish food importers and Papa ignited the beginning of wine tastings again.

Edgar from Mevalco talked us through some over their most popular wines, with Papa cooking delicious prawns and Iberico along with cheeses and charcuterie.  It was a fabulous evening, so we’ve decided to hold another n the 11th of July.

This time, we’ll be considering the wines sold in the deli (we don’t have a huge selection, but each one is an absolute favourite of ours).

Papa (Simon MacDonnell) will talk you through a vermouth, cava, two whites and two reds and there will be delicious charcuterie and artisan cheese from the deli.

After the tasting, there’s the chance to hang out in the deli, sip you wine and have a little peruse.  Anything you fancy buying will get 10% off.

One of my favourite reds, Como lo haria mi abuelo will be included in the tasting. It’s a blend of all 4 varieties of Rioja plus a little Viura and is slightly oaked. It’s a belter of a red and loved by all my friends too.

Amongst the food will be the most incredible boquerones which are fresh and huge. Also mouthwatering prawns with allioli.  It’s all delicious.

The atmosphere is super friendly and convivial.

Book soon as when I mail it out, places disappear.
