We love food and as you can imagine, we spend a lot of time cooking and eating! This class is a celebration of some of our absolute favourites, ones that we cook up for a dinner party – it’s all delicious!
Teachers: Kirstie Urquhart is a superb chef who worked for many years with us at Papadeli before setting up as a personal chef. She is wonderfully inventive and knowledgeable and creates absolutely gorgeous food.
Simon MacDonnell, aka Papa, is co-founder of Papadeli and is still mad about good food over 20 years later! He know SO much about food, as you can imagine and loves sharing.
All chefs are brilliantly knowledgeable and super friendly, so you’ll have a lovely time watching and learning before getting stuck in with some fabulous ingredients, creating delicious dishes you can replicate at home Then sit down, enjoy your creations before heading home happy and full with a bag of more food to share. Classes are fun and informative and we share the recipes so you can use them again and again.
Chefs rotate depending on how busy they are with catering, so expect to see any one (or a combination) of the above!

The Cookery School
Our cookery school, on the top floor above our deli, is a professional kitchen where our chefs create all the delights in the deli and superb food for catering events during the day – from canapés, buffets, takeaway dishes, frozen meals and amazing cakes. In the evening, it’s a beautiful and perfect space for learning how to make all these dishes using ingredients from local, European artisan producers and suppliers and taste some new flavours. If you ask nicely, Simon might give you a private tour of the deli…
What you’ll need
Just you! Bring an apron if you like (we do supply aprons too) and containers to take your food home, to save on disposables. Please arrive 5 or 10 minutes early to 84 Alma Road, BS8 2DJ and we’ll take you upstairs. If you are late, please try to let us know in advance, if not possible, call 07785 328991.
