As a deli that’s been around for 18 years, we thought one national award was pretty amazing (we were voted UK Best small shop by Indie Retail at an award ceremony at the House of Commons just before Christmas). But this week to our further amazement (and big excitement) we won the Guild of Find Food award for Deli and Grocer of the year.

It was a pretty hard competition, as they sent a mystery shopper (still don’t know who they were or when they came) and a judge for the awards came and interviewed us all about the business.

We didn’t really think any more of it as there are so many brilliant delis out there and didn’t think we’d stand a chance.

So it was a big surprise when Simon went up to the Speciality Food Show in Harrogate and it was announced.

Hooray for the Papadeli team who work so very hard making Papadeli a lovely place to visit. So a massive thank you to them.

Call in and say hi – you’ll see what the judges meant by lovely atmosphere (and you can sample one of the incredible cakes that they marvelled at). You can takeaway amazing dishes from the deli counter, get some of your favourites cheeses, but a few pieces of gorgeous cake or sit in and peruse the wondrous array of treats and luxury produce.
